What Lessons Can You Learn From The Story “ Sucker “ ?
We Can Learn That Being Rude / Mean Is Not The Right Solution . Pete Would Have His Mind On Maybelle And Would Not Care What Richard ( Sucker ) Would Do . As Long As He Did Not Bother Him . We Can Also Learn That Its Not Right To Act Rude Towards People , Especially Family . We Should Love Our Family . Not Treat Them Like Trash . People Shouldn’t Act Like That . They Should Be Loving And Caring . I Also Have Learned That If You Don’t Give Someone Respect , They Probably Won’t Respect You Back . You Gotta Earn Someones Respect So They an Treat Your In A Good Way . These Are Some Lessons I Learned In The Story “ Sucker “ .

Something I learned from this story is words can hurt more than physical abuse. So you have to be very careful with what you say. I think this because if you have a black eye from being punched in the face or something like that, it will heal in a couple weeks. But if someone calls you ugly or stupid, something like that. It will most likely stick in your brain forever. I also learned that body language is important too. When Sucker kept staring at Pete with those two mean eyes of his, Pete knew that Sucker was very angry. Pete would come home from school or something and Sucker would be in his room just glaring at Pete. Things that made me mad about the story is that Maybelle treated Pete so badly. That is what mad Pete mad then he took it out on Sucker. Pete did not do anything wrong to Maybelle. All in all it was a pretty good story. Thank you! =P

*In “Sucker” there are quite a few lessons to be learned. One can be is that respect the ones you admire, love or appreciate. In this story, Pete is in love with Maybelle but she doesn’t like him back. So when Pete was hurt, he would take it all out on Sucker. Don’t take all your problems and blame them on another person. They’re your problems, deal with them with some help. A second lesson to be learned is that do not call anyone names because calling someone names can change a person’s perspective of you. When you insult someone, it hurts their feelings and doesn’t make you feel any better. These lessons are important because I would want to be remembered by a charming person rather than a discourteous person. That’s what lessons that can be learned from Carson McCullers’ “Sucker”, but the huge moral is that be nice to one another, names hurt a lot more than one thinks and people change because of the pain you caused them.*

Some lessons that we can learn from the experiences of Pete , Sucker ( Richard ) , and Maybelle are things like respect. When Maybelle started to respect Pete he then started to respect Sucker more then usual. Also how we should cherish everyday and one because we never know if the next that person is gone or your no longer friends. They show us how fast a relationship between two people can change. Like Maybelle and Pete they were not close then they were and then they weren’t anymore. These lessons are important because we never know when something like Pete or Maybelle’s experience might happen. Like in school or somewhere there might be someone who you have a complicated relationship with is mean to you then nice. It is better to learn or experience these things when were young. Mainly when were young because it’s the time to make mistakes , instead of when were adults. All in all the book “Sucker” by Carson McCullers is a great book with alot of valuable lessons.

The lesson we can learn from “Sucker” is to be your own friend. Sucker doesn’t need anyone. If no one needs him he should need himself. He also should have acted like it didn’t fase him. By doing that it would have made Pete stop. Sucker could have also told himself nice things. If someone is telling you mean things you should just ignore them and continue what you are doing. They are family so they should really just make up. Pete really needs to apologize and admit he was wrong. Sucker really shouldn’t let words effect him that much.

I completely agree. We should not treat out family like trash! It's just wrong!

The lessons that Sucker learned was that he was gullible. Sucker believed that everything was true. Also that he learned that Pete was in love with Maybelle. But at the end of the story Pete forgets about Maybelle. Maybelle humiliated Pete and that's why he doesn’t like Maybelle. Also that Sucker is growing really fast than any kid that Pete as ever seen. Then sucker realized that Pete hated him because he was annoying to him. Also when Sucker was growing up he had a group kids like a “gang” and they went to Pete’s room all the time. One time Pete yelled at Sucker and telling him that every one hates Sucker and no one likes him. Lastly Sucker learned that no one hated him and that Pete was lying.

Only Some Words Can Hurt More Than Abuse . It Just Depends What That Person Is Telling To The Other . Some Words Can Scar You For Life And You Will Never Forget What They Have Said About You .

The lessons we can learn from “Sucker” are don’t take all your anger out on one person. If you do they will feel like you hate them. Especially on someone like Sucker who has looked up to Pete his whole life. And then Pete took all his anger out on Sucker because of what Maybelle said to him. Maybelle said to Pete that she never liked him. So one day Sucker asked Pete “ Why aren’t we buddies like before?” Then Pete snapped and said “ Were not buddies because your the dumbest slob I ever saw. And none cares about you! And I don’t give a damn about you. Then Sucker changed alot he started hanging out with the wrong crowd and they made up this club. So what I'm saying is don’t take all the anger u built up on a little kid because that could scare him for life.

I totally agree with what your saying about how Pete didn't do anything. If you think about it Pete should of even in the beginning never been so mean to sucker that was really dumb. Even though he did nothing to her he still did something bad but not to Maybelle and was just expressing his feelings but in a bad way. :))))

We can learn a lot from this story, such as you shouldn’t let anyone get you down . You should n e v e r let any boy or girl you like get to you either . You should always keep your head way up high to the sky because it’s blue skies . No Matter How Much Someone Bullies You Messes With You You Shouldn’t go to their level . Something that you should never ever do is yell at someone because they want to talk to you . You should never put your hurt on someone who has done nothing but goodness too you because someday karma will come . Karma is a very bad thing when it happens to you . You never want to loose some of your best friends because of someone else . That is never a good thing . That is what I think we should pay attention to and learn from in that story .

You can learn from the experiences that Pete and Sucker had a very close relationship. When Sucker got older Pete started to have different feelings about him.Sucker and May-bell didn't really have a relationship they actually didn't really know each other.Sucker only knew that Pete liked her and she liked him back.Well so Pete thought but then she started hanging out with this football player and then she started being mean to him.Now May-Bell only knew that Sucker was Pete’s brother. You can learn from all of the experiences that some of them thought they were close but others didn’t.These lessons are important because it is special to stay close to who you love the most in your life.:)

I agree you shouldn't blame other people for your problems. People do say hurtful things to others because they are hurt. I think they should just drop the whole situation and be a family again.

I thing the interations between Sucker, Pete, and Maybelle are really like some people in school and I think it a little weired that Pete was all about Maybelle then it jumped to all about Sucker. The lesson we could learn from this experieneces we shouldn’t treat be like they don’t even on earth and we shouldn’t be so hard on people when they ask a simple question. You should not take your anger on somebody like that at all. I also think that you should not yell in a nice voice to somebody like that with anger. I think that you shouldn’t be so mad at someone asking a question of some kand of trouble in school. You could of said in a nice “ I don’t feel like talking or anwser any question right now because I had a bad day at school this week. Sorry about that. Maybe next time.” That would of been a better idea then to get mad at someone asking a question. That what I think we could learn from this story “ Sucker”. 710

The lessons we could learn from “Sucker” is never take put your anger on someone else either it is physical or verbal. We can’t do this because you might be feeling hurt or mad but once you do something to another person because you’re angry you might just make that person feel hurt or mad and they may never talk to you again. That’s one of the lessons. Another I learned never to disrespect your family members. Even though you might be mad at them or they might be mad at you never disrespect them no matter what. This is a lesson that I think is kind of cool, never be afraid to talk to your crush even though you might be kind of shy just talk to them, you never know if they might like you. So don’t be afraid. I also think another might be don't feel down when someone might not like you because you will meet a whole bunch more of people that may or may not like you.

Thanks, I think that we should learn to be nicer to our loved ones. Name calling is worst than it seems, it effects us in a huge way. Also, I think that when Pete called Sucker all those names, Pete crushed Sucker's spirit.

Its Like What You Should Say " Im On My Level " So Im Going To Ac My Age And Not My Shoe Size . Treating People In That Way Won't Make You A Better Person . Just Because That Other Person Don't Like You Back Doesn't Mean You Should Treat Someone In A Bad Way .

Some of the lesson that we can learn from Sucker are these examples here.To begin, at first Sucker very quite.Another example some lessons that can learn from Sucker is that Sucker began getting influenced by Pete his older cousin and began getting much more rawl and seriouse.Sucker also began getting involved into gangs which made Pete worry about Sucker’s personality.Suck then began to look at Pete in a mean, thretening way with no fear. That also concered Pete. And those are some lessons that we an learn from Richar aka “Sucker”.709

Lessons that we can learn from ‘sucker’ are to be nice to ower siblings.Don’t share the same room with some that you dislike someone. When your at school try to hang out with the same people and not hate each other.Hangout with each other every now and then.If someone is annoying then walk away.Hangout with your friends.

Lessons learned from “sucker”

719
1. One lesson we can learn is if you are a guy and you see a girl that you like a lot with another guy, then you just leave them alone.
2. Another thing we can learn is if you believe stuff, then only believe what you think is true.
3. The third thing is that if your an older brother and you have a little brother or any other type of younger relative who lives with you, never tell them there not wanted like when Pete said “don’t you know when your not wanted” to Sucker.
4. If your older and you have a lot of stress take it out on a pillow, don’t take it out on younger relatives, like Pete when he took his anger out on Sucker because he didn’t want wish that he saw the girl of his dreams with another guy.
5. If you like a girl then ask her out, but only ask her if you know she’s not dating anyone, if you think she’s dating or know she’s dating then don’t ask her.
6. When you upset don’t be mean to a younger relative like Pete and sucker. That never goes well, because if you take your anger out on your relative, they might or will be forced to hit you, and then you’ll hit them, and then it gets real fighty real fast.
7. If you see a girl you might like, like when Pete saw this girl named Maybelle, and you go on dates with her and then you see her at school and after school you see her with another guy and that makes mad just walk away because chances of you being happy are slim to none.
8. If your mad and your around your family, don’t treat them like trash because that's just not right.
9. If you want someones respect you gotta be nice to them and treat them nicely, and not rudley like Pete and Sucker.
10. And Finally just be nice and have fun and don’t date chicks who you think or know are or is dating someone.

This story can teach us a lot of lessons, the narrator Pete learned his lesson because of the way he treated his younger cousin and he regrets it, his cousins name is Richard or “Sucker” the reason they call him that is because he would do anything Richard told him to do, this made me treat the people that look up to me differently, for example my little brother, or just a friend because one day if you need help they won’t be there for you because of what you did. Richard was never the same after what Pete had done, he was mean, got in fights, and he was just a totally different person he wasn’t that little scared kid anymore, he was the one that scared the little kids. All I have to say is just think about what your going to do before you do it.

You are right, you shouldn't let anyone get to you. You should keep your head up when you walk through life because it's easier to see a place that is much nicer than Earth. I believe in Karma 100%.

Interactions between Sucker, Pete, and Maybelle were very good at parts and very bad at parts. When Pete and Sucker were friends they were very nice and did every thing together like slept together and hanged out after school. When Pete and Maybelle hanged out it was very good for them they went to the movies together. Then when Maybelle stoped talking to Pete and looking at him like she used to everything went down hill. Like when Pete got home from school he kicked Sucker out of the room. That night Pete started to yell and call Sucker names because Pete was so mad and angry.

Lessons that can be learned is to don’t take frustration out on people that did not do anything wrong. If some one or something is bothering you talk to someone before you take it out on friends or family. The best way is to talk to someone because you can’t take back words. Words can hurt someone really badly even if you don’t mean them that way. These detailes are very important so you don’t lose friends or family.

A couple of the lessons I learned from “Sucker” were that, in my own words, if you call “Sucker” a Sucker he makes you feel sort of like the sucker your self, in a way. This is evident especially when Pete said all those mean, rude, hurtful things to Sucker that hurt him because he was his best friend or his big brother. Also I think that the bond between them was broken just because of something really weird. Also, I think it was a good idea just for Pete to hit him because that wouldn't be as bad as saying all those mean, hurtful, not meant words to Sucker. I think when Pete said those words, Sucker just went berserk and turned into one of those people who if some one hurts them they're going to hurt some one else. I think that he is hurting inside along with all those mean words said. Those are some of the lessons that came to me and what they were about.

:P

In the book junior great books a boy named Pete had a cousin. His name was sucker. He thought of him as a little brother because sucker would always fallow him around and do what he does.Have you ever really liked someone and they didn’t like you back?Well that’s Pete's problem. He really like this girl and she one day came up to him and talked to him and coped his home work. But one day she stopped talking to him and started hanging with this ‘’guy’’.he thought well i know she smocks so he went down to the drug store and got some smocks. the next day he goes up to her and said I should ask her if she wont’s to go out and have a smock. So he went up to her and said hey you wanna go out with me and have a smock ?She says Pete I never liked you i never gave a rat about go away!He was so mad he went home and tolled sucker to get out of the room they sheared and he was trying to keep his mind off of her and stay busy.So he took that pack of sugariest and went down the street to the drug store and smocked one that became a daily thing. As sucker grows up he doesn't want his brothers handy downs he love when he was younger,he would always have a mean look on his face.

There are many lessons in the story "sucker". The narrator learned his lesson at the end of the story by yelling at Sucker. They called Richer sucker because, he believes everything and anything the narrator tells him. I Learned to never say anything i didn’t mean or that i would regret later, because once you have said it, theres no turning back. They may have forgave you but they will never forget what you said. Pete said a lot things he didn’t mean to his cousin/ brother, And now Sucker believes that’s how Pete truly feels about him on the inside, but really what he said came out of anger. The look that Sucker had on his face was saying that him and Pete could never be the same or as close as they were. My parents raised me to be respectful to the people i look up to and my piers. Its always the best idea to be respectful to the ones you look up to because later in life when you need them, they wont be there for you anymore because you pushed them away. Another lesson i have learned is, to never get to close to people because Sooner or later they will find someone they look up too, and they will just leave you alone and ignore you.Pete looked up to Maybelle and she forgot about him and pretty much blew him off. This left Pete to be the “Sucker” And for Sucker to be Richard.

I think there are a few big lessons we can learn from “Sucker.” The biggest one is to not take your anger out on others. If you are having a bad day or whatever, you should try to talk to somebody. If you take your anger out on other people, what happened between Sucker and Pete could happen to you. Also, you shouldn’t get caught up with a boy/girl. They can make you go crazy. Pete shouldn’t have liked Maybelle because she treated him terribly. If you fall for a boy/girl, you can start to ignore siblings, family, or friends. Sometimes, if you like the wrong boy/girl, they can get you into trouble.
