Period 2/3 Blog id-212 I think the biggest problems facing teens is Alcohol and Drugs. This is my honest opinion because all you ever hear anymore is your friends going out and drinking or getting high on marijuana. Or the second one would have to be sex. Almost everyday you hear that this girl is pregnant and she isn’t a virgin. Others may disagree but this is what I think and for others it may be different. You also hear a lot of people dropping out of high school because they had a kid. As you can see that is what I think the biggest problem facing teens today is.
206 The biggest problems facing teens today is peer pressure. I think peer pressure is the biggest issue with teens because kids are always making their friends do things they should not have to. Teens make their friends smoke and drink alcohol, and boyfriends/girlfriends can pressure them into having sex. It’s really easy to pressure someone into doing something because the person being pressured is afraid to say no or lose their friends. When you get pressured into doing something its really hard to say no because you know that others might make fun of you if you don’t do what they want. We can fix these issues by not being as judgemental of others because when people judge you they make fun of you so you’re being pressured to change. We can also not make our friends do things. If we tell them hey do this and they say no respect it and move on. We can also say no when we know somethings bad. That’s why I think the biggest problem facing teens today is peer pressure.
#202 I think the biggest problem that teens face today is that they are staring to do drugs and drinking. Some teens thinks this is cool so they start but then they can’t stop. They can also do it because they might have family problems and they don’t know what else to do. A lot of things might have happened to the teens in there past life and they are doing this because they think it’s taking the pain away. I think we can fix this issue by making sure that all the kids who have family problems get help. Just make sure that if they are hurting that they don’t moves toward this bad choice. We could also have parent meetings or even the school can tell people how bad this is. You can’t change teens so if they don’t stop then we can’t make them. I would just remind them what a bad choice this is. You know your kids the best so it’s mostly up to the parents to help them. You have been with them your whole life. They are just throwing there lives away. If you know that your kids what to go to collage then don’t let them do this.
#209 One of the biggest issues teens face today is pure pressure! Pure pressure can cause teens to do several things that they would not do normally. I think every teen faces pure pressure at least a couple times a year most likely more! Rather it’s pure pressure to smoke or drink or do sexual actions with peers. It will often make kids feel uncomfortable. Kids are often targeted by older and more popular kids and in many cases kids do it just because they want fit in. Kids needs to learn tools to deal with pure pressure because it’s inevitable. Kids are trying new things and maturing much faster. You hear commercials about how kids start meth at 12 and that was most likely introduced to them by pure pressure. I think we need to come up with some ways to make kids can say no to pure pressure. That is why I think pure pressure id the biggest issue we face.
#207 I think the biggest issues right now with teens are drugs and alcohol, I think teens use drugs because, they feel like older teenagers are going to think they are cool. Some of them probably use them to get their minds off of their own problems. I know the President has already tried to fix this problem. But, I really don’t think making marijuana legal is going to help the situation. I mean I know they did it for medical purposes but people don’t buy it for medicine, they buy to get high! Another issue I think is alcohol, the legal age is very appropriate, but now a days there is something called “fake id’s”. I really don’t know how we can change these problems, but we got to start somewhere!
Biggest Teen Issue #222 I think one of the biggest teen issue is drinking and driving. A lot of teens get killed or end up killing someone else if the are drunk. A lot f teen go to parties and then drink get really drunk and drive home or to another party. If you know that you are going to drunk then don’t drive, have a friend pick you up or even have your parents pick you up. You might get in trouble with your parents for drinking if you call and ask them to pick you up, but I think that getting in trouble is way better than getting in an accident and getting hurt. So if you want to party and get drunk than don’t drive home be smart and call someone. Don’t drive home or anywhere else. So if you don’t want to call someone maybe have someone who you know isn’t going to drink. That is what I think is one of teens biggest issues.
Teens now a days have been having some serious issues. Issues can be started by peer pressure and other ways but i think peer pressure has never been worse. I think the biggest issue is drugs. People will do drugs and have fun and others want to be cool and have fun with them so they will try it. Once they try it they could ruin their lives. I think this is a serious issue because so many people do drugs, and so many people want to fit in. Drugs will most likely ruin peoples life. That is what i think is the most important and serious issue in teens now a days. 221
210 I think the biggest problem facing the teen world today is being judgemental. Judging people on what kind of clothes they wear! What cars there parents drive! Personally i think its pretty pathetic. But i see it happen everyday. I’m not saying I have never judged someone, but i just think it’s not the right way to pick and chose your friends. I think it’s such a problem because generally all teens care about how they look. They don’t want to be seen with someone who dose not dress the same or look or act “normal”. I think a fixing this problem will be hard but not impossible. I think as soon as everyone gets that people aren’t all the same, and that it’s okay to be different are problem will be solved. I believe everyone should be there own person, and not depend on their looks but their personality.
218.The 3 biggest teen issues to me I think are sex, alcohol, and doing drugs. So many girls are pressured by a lot of guys to just give it up and have sex with them. The girls should be strong enough to say no and keep to their word, and for them that do I’m proud, but some aren’t as strong and things go down. At our age we shouldn’t be having sex at all, but if you do choose to make sure your safe and either use a condom or birth control. Having unprotected sex is like the dumbest idea ever! It’s not guaranteed you will get pregnant, but a lot bigger of a chance then using a condom. Teens never really think about every little detail that sex can cause later. Having a baby is just the first. You really have to think about everything else. Such as paying for diapers, baby formula, child support, managing going to school if you don’t drop out, getting a job all of that. To most guys sex is like the best and funnest thing ever, to most girls it’s just a way to keep their boyfriend or not seeming “scared”. That’s not fair and more the cause of the reason why teens have sex. Drugs and drinking alcohol come next. Once again peer pressuring goes into that one too. So many teens are pressured into smoking pot, doing Ecstasy, meth, sh-rooms all that. All of that stuff can have so many bad affects on us. We could get alcohol poisning with alcohol, face can get really messed up with meth, loosing brain cells with pot, and so many more. These are 3 biggest teen issues to me because so many are peer pressured in doing them.
#223 A lot more kids younger and younger are starting to do drugs because there friends are telling them to do it. There older brother or sister are giving it to them. They do it because they think they are being cool.
How we can fix this is have more people watching the parks. The parents should be watching there kids to.
The biggest problem, I think, teens face is peer pressure. Peer pressure is everywhere you look when you’re a teen. It’s hard to say no and feel left out of your group and be called a loser and other names. That’s why so many people give in to peer pressure, because you want to go with the flow, but the flow is stuff like doing drugs, and so many other things. Teens also give into peer pressure because a person can only take so much torment before they crack, and give in. Peer pressure can ruin your life by making you do stuff that you don’t want to. It gets good people addicted to bad things, like drugs, sex and other things that will destroy your life. That is why i think peer pressure is the biggest problem teens face.
224 I think the biggest problems that teens face today are drugs and alcohol. Teens are influenced by the people older than them (high schoolers) and most average teens are doing drugs and alcohol so they think they should too. I think that coming up with fun extra curricular activities that teens actually want to participate in. If they have something fun to do then they will spend their time doing the extra curricular activity rather than drugs or alcohol. Most teens get involved with drugs and alcohol because they are bored and have nothing else to do, so they go exploring and that’s what they find. Drugs and alcohol. I know lot of people that have problems with/and or use drugs or alcohol, and it changes their lives for good. Most people never go back to being sober. And i think its sad
#202 Dear 218, I think your right because girls do get pressured into having sex. A lot of teens who do have a baby either have family problems or they don't have any money for all that a baby needs.
The biggest problem teens face today is bad grades. Teens have issues with bad grades because they have no will to learn anymore. School has become a faded thing in their minds and is just something that they “have” to do. They think that just having their presence there will count as them being at school. They are zoned out mentally and and are not thinking about their futures, only about right now. They ride on barely passing grades such as D averages, hoping that that will carry them through high school until they can get a job. Little do they know that riding on a D average will MAYBE get them a minimum wage job. There are many reasons why teens have issues with grades but a major one is that they’re plain out lazy. Not lazy physically but mentally. They would rather not think and skip on homework or classwork so that they could save that “energy” to go do something they like. An hour, and most likely less is about the time it takes to do homework, but in their minds it takes 3-4 hours. I’ve been there, trust me, I know. It’s not only in homework that this happens. It happens in classwork too. Teens will spend 20 minutes typing out a sentence that could had been typed in about 30 seconds, if that. They get off track too easily and don’t know how to get themselves rolling again. This problem can be sometimes difficult to fix because you cannot force a student to learn. It’s like the old saying goes, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t force it to drink the water.” We can lead students to learn. First off, at our school we have AVID, which in my opinion is a great way to get teens to be more successful! Organization is also a reason that teens don’t learn and by having AVID that reason is demolished and can’t be an excuse anymore. We could also make work more fun. Not like coloring books in class but by making the work easier to understand. Some teens don’t learn while sitting next to someone that they like such as a friend, but most teens don’t learn at all while sitting next to someone they really dislike. Make class a group session with partners that will help each other learn. If one teen can help the other than every teen in school should be successful. No IFs, ANs, or BUTs about it. If one teen can take control of their learning, then the next will and the next, causing a chain reaction of learning. That’s all it takes to get those D averages to college.
The biggest issue teens face today is drugs. Its such a big issue because it kills your brain cells. They also make you spend alot of money then your always in poverty. Some ways to fix this problem are having drug tests, intervention programs, and rehab places. Drug tests would help fix this problem because you can find out who does drugs. Intervention programs would help fix this problem because it would help convince teens to get off them. Finally, rehab places would help this problem because teens would have a place to get off the drugs. This is what i think the biggest teen issue is.
224 people never think about what other people are going through and the think that all the choices they've made are bad ones, but you dont know what their going through so how would you know? to: everyone
This is to {206} I agree with you because this is so true. That is the main reason why teens are doing all these drugs and getting drunk. This is such a good response because this is very true From [212]
#201 Dear #223, I felt that you were touching on a very important matter, but why is your paragraph so short? I would have loved to hear more on the subject you brought up.
218. 209, 206, 201 I agree with all of you guys. That is basically the biggest issue. Peer pressuring causes teens do so many bad things and it can be hard to say no. I agree that even younger kids are wanting to bad things like drugs and drinking too, just to seem accepting of the older kids. (seem cool) And it shouldn't be like that, but yet it is.
210 This is to 206! I totally agree with you. Peer pressure is such a big problem. I love how you talked about respecting people, and what they think is right or wrong! I really think you explained in an amazing way, and a way people understand and can relate to.
To #207 this is also absolutely true because people think they aren't gong to fit in. Just because everybody does drugs and they do not do them. I agree with you.
206 Dear 207, I disagree with you when you said "but I don't think making marijuana legal is going to help." If you think about it you have to have a prescription from your doctor in order to get it. Not only that but you have to be over a certain age and it really can help certain people with certain conditions.
#213 The biggest problem facing teens today is probably pregnancy/sex. I think that alot of kids are having sex and therefore there is alot of pregnancy. Recently I have noticed I know alot of young girls that are pregnant and that’s not right. I think that alot of kids just like having sex and dont understand that they get have a baby 9 months later and have to take care of it by themselvs for the rest of thier lives. Kids need to just be kids and need to not do that kind of stuff. I think theres no way to fix it. I think kids are going to do it no matter what even if theres a chance they will have a kid. Thats what i think the biggest problem facing kids is pregnancy/sex.
Dear #206 I agree with you, everyone is does judge everyone based on what they do when others tell them to do it. Even if a kid has been judge before they will turn around and judge someone else for the same thing that they wouldn't do. But I think everyone should just stop pressuring others to do things. Because if they know that they wouldn't do it themselves then don't make others or try to make others do it. #222
#202 dear 210, I agree with you. I mean who cares if you shop at Ross or Target. I don't like how people always say, "If you don't shop here then you must be poor." I want to ask you Do you shop at a store like Target?
#207 Hey #212, I completely agree with you. All this week a lot of people have been asking me to go to parties where there is going to be drinking. I also hear a lot of people saying they got high this day, and others that got wasted. So tat is my opinion on the teen issues I think are the most important!
One of the biggest problem teens face is peer-pressure. There are many things teen peer-pressure each other into doing like drugs, smoking, and alcohol. When a friend says something is cool and it doesn’t really hurt you like all the adults say, you might be tempted to try it. Most teens will do anything to get into the “it group”. They would be willing to get in a fight or something even more serious that could be harmful to their health or someone else's health. Those are some of the reasons why I think peer-pressure is one of the biggest problem teens face. I think peer-pressure is such a problem because at this time in life teens are insecure and will do anything and pressure anyone into doing something that will make them look cool, or to get them into the “it group”. This is why I think peer-pressure is such a problem I don’t think there really is a way to solve peer-pressure it’s a thing that everyone will have to go through at some point in there life. Its something that can’t be stopped because it happens “behind closed doors” so adults and other people can’t really see it happening. This is why I think peer-pressure is an unsolvable problem.
I think the biggest problem is internet safety. many disappearances and/ or deaths happen related to the internet. If we all learned internet safety and tried to spread we could decrease deaths/ disappearances dramatically. We can make the world a better place. It's up to you.
224 218-i think the way your viewing things is great. like the way you worded it and explainedt. i think teens getting pregnant is a big issue because they drop out then their life is pretty much ruined.
I think that the biggest problem that teens face today is alcohol and drugs, because teens buckle under peer-pressure. But it’s not only drug’s and alcohol, it’s sex and teen parent’s too.
Teens don’t want to be made fun of or thought of as “childish”,so they go with their friend’s and get drunk, high or have sex. Most parents don’t know what their kid’s do at their friend’s house’s, but usually they’re getting drunk and/or high and then having sex. Most teens get addicted and then miss up their lives.
I think that someways to fix these problems is that the people that do drug’s and drink alcohol should stop asking other people to join them. And I also think that parent’s should talk to their kid’s about having sex, even though it’s not a fun subject to talk about.
206 Dear 219, I strongly agree with what you have to say because its so true that kids are just blowing through school just doing whatever they feel like when all that actually matters right now is school work and grades. Great post!
#215 Teen issues, there will always be teen issues. To me a big teen issue is popularity. Every one gets rated by how outgoing they are, how “cool” they are, what kind of clothes they wear, and who they hang out with. If your not good friends with a popular kid then you will probably be judged. Kids who are not as popular might try to fit in by using drugs and alcohol thinking that its “cool”. Kids will go to extreme levels to try to fit in. If they think that they have to do bad things to fit in i don’t think that’s right. They should feel welcome in the school’s environment. I think this is such a problem because it makes teens feel bad and lowers their self esteem. If popularity makes them give up on believing in themselves and doing their best then I am pretty sure that makes popularity is a big issue. Some possible solutions are try to get to know people before you judge them. Who knows you could make some friends. It will make more people feel better about themselves. If everyone would get rid of popularity then I think it would make a much better way to learn.
218. 219 I kinda have to disagree with you on bad grades being the biggest issue to teens. Like yea for sure that's a big issue, but not really the biggest. For example yes I kno alot of teens to have bad grades, but there are also a majority of teens that do get grades and really care about school.
to #219 from 220 I do think bad grades are a big teen issue but i think drugs are a bigger issue. Teens have no reason to be doing drugs. actually nobody has any reason to be doing them. But teens are getting lazier and lazier.
#207 Hey #219 I disagree with you, because bad grades might be an issue right now, but alcohol and drugs have been going on forever. I think we should focus more on that then bad grade. Because I mean it's your choice if you want to get bad grades or not!
I agree that drugs are a major part of issues that teens have but think about this: Most teens don't let anyone but their friends know about them taking drugs. In this stage of our lives, no one, and I mean no one is going to tell a teacher or parent that someone is doing drugs. No one wants to be the snitch. So how can we have intervention programs and ways to get clean if most adults have no way of understanding who and how someone is doing drugs?
224 i agree with what 206 said to 207. some people may seriously need medical marijuana for specific reason, and if their given the prescription for it from their doctors that means they do need it. it was made for a reason.
Dear #218 I agree that sex is a huge problem teens face especially for girls but also for guys. A lot of girls feel that if they don't give into their boyfriends they will lose them. Guys also have that pressure from their friends who will nag them about it until they do it.
Dear 206, I agree on your point about how peer pressure is a big issue. That is what mainly leads teens into choosing bad actions and then influencing others younger than them. From 215
206 Dear 203, That makes so much sense. It does have a lot to do with the parents because the parents are nicer to us than there parents were because they thought there parents were horrible. Now they want to be the "cool" parent when really they are ruining their kids life.
to #219 from 220 I do think bad grades are a big teen issue but i think drugs are a bigger issue. Teens have no reason to be doing drugs. actually nobody has any reason to be doing them. Teens are getting lazier and lazier.
208 I believe the biggest pressures among teen is peer pressure.I believe that peer presure among teens is the biggest presure/problem. Peer presure can leadto drugs and other unhealthy behaviors like under eating or drinking.I belive peer presure among teens is so great because teens are at the age to where they are more likley to be fall into these things because there trying to find out who they realy are. They try different things to find fun and they see thier friends or role models like rock stars. They do drug and so do thier friend so they fall under peer preasure and do when they righfully know they shou not. This can be stop by us as a class.A honors languge arts class working together. We can be the people who do not presure other into doing things they don’t want to do. We also can be the people who are the one that stand up and help some one that is being pressured into doing something.
I think the biggest problem with facing teens is because of drama. Drama goes on every day. And it mostly because of teens being jealous or spreading rumours. This is a big problem today because the drama causes fights and bad rumours. Most of the drama is from dating or because someone has something that somebody else does not. For example if someone starts a text saying that somebody did something but they didn’t the person that was involved might get into a fight. Or the rumour might get passed to everyone in the school. I think a way to fix facing teens is to have group discussions with teens and have classes with smaller groups of kids. I also think if the schools made bigger consequences teens would not fight.
I disagree that bad grades are one of the worst problems facing teens. I mean there are a lot of people that do get bad grades but there are also a lot of teens who get really GOOD grades.
I think the biggest problem that teens face is drugs and alcohol. Drugs are a really big problem for teens, A: because they’re bad for you, and B: they will ruin your life. Alcohol is just bad, because bad things usually happen when anybody gets alcohol. Drugs and alcohol become available for teens mostly by adults. If a teenagers parent or guardian have drugs or alcohol anywhere in the place they are living, since the teen lives there, they will find them sooner or later. Teens can also get possession of drugs or alcohol through friends. I think that it’s more friends than parent or guardian. That’s because friends won’t yell at you for doing something wrong. So, friends are more likely to actually smoke a joint with you. Teens are probably doing drugs and drinking, because they’re at that age when you think anything is okay. Drugs and alcohol are the biggest problems for teens today because they mess up your life.
Dear 207 I agree with you I think that internet Safety is also a big issue with teens. And we should all make sure that we don't give away any personal information over the internet to keep safe. 222
#202 Dear 219, I agree with you because a lot of teens do have bad grades. A lot of them think that they can't change them but they can. Your blog really shows them how and why they should. How do you think we could make class easier?
Everybody who has alcohol or drugs as there teen issue, why is that a teen issue? Your not tracing back far enough to the problem. Who gets someone started on stuff like this? kids don't just randomly pick up pot and start smoking it. What about the influence of others such as parents, siblings, etc. Its not the drugs themselves, its the influence that your elders are peers have on you and what influence you give to you kids or peers.
As far as I can see, you all agree that drug and alcohol abuse are the biggest issues teens face today. Now let's look at a statistic real quick. Do you see more immature 20 and 30 year olds doing drugs or do you see more middle school and high school students doing drugs. I can tell you right now that it's more of an issue with older people. Grades on the other hand are happening right now. And it's also a personality issue. Teens involved in school, at all whether it's bad grades or good grades, have a less likely chance at doing drugs and alcohol. You need to understand that not every teen is doing drugs, but every teen is trying to survive through school, therefore grades have a slight advantage at being a bigger issue.
#207 Dear 202, I completely agree with you, because some teens do have a lot of problems going on in their lives! I also do think schools can help, but I also now there is some teens that are very stoburn... and they might not want to leave it behind!
It's not really that we need to make classes easier, because they will not get easier as life progresses. It's that we need to make a better learning environment.
The problem that teens face today is depression. People express this sadness in many different ways. Most teens show impulsive behavior in their actions. Also, they use drugs and smoke. This can lead to rudeness. Plus, some studies show that teens who spend too much time on the Internet sometimes will show sings of depression. I have learned that teens are getting worse and worse over the generations. I have heard this from adults and college students.
@203 I completely agree with you. If someone is going to mess up their life then they shouldn't bring people down with them by telling them it's "cool".
211 I disagree with everyone who said drugs and alcohol are the main teen issues. Think about it, who influences them to pick up pot for the first time? Haven't you ever seen the commercials live above the influence? they want to stop the influence because if you stop that you stop the heart of the problem.
Dear 215... I don't really agree that popularity is a big teen issue. You can't really control how popular you are. You just make decisions that either get you friends or make you lose them.
208 I agree with 207. 715 I believe drama is not the cause but the cause is really peer pressure from other teens think teens need to stop pressuring one another.I think if teens where more caring to one another this and things like this would not happen. That what I think and belive.
blog#204 The biggest problems teens face today is how to avoid getting involved with people that do drugs. The reason I think this is a problem is that when people get involved with others that do drugs they may try to make them quit. When they try to stop other people they may find themselves doing the drugs too. The way to solve this problem is to never get involved with these people and think you can change them. The only way you can get them to stop is to leave them alone and let their parents find out. Although this may take a while. But its worth the wait in the end. Its better than getting involved with drugs yourself.

The biggest problems facing teens today is peer pressure. I think peer pressure is the biggest issue with teens because kids are always making their friends do things they should not have to. It’s really easy to pressure someone into doing something because the person being pressured is afraid to say no or lose their friends. When you get pressured into doing something its really hard to say no because you know that others might make fun of you if you don’t do what they want.

Biggest Teen Issue
#222
I think one of the biggest teen issue is drinking and driving.

I think the biggest problem facing the teen world today is being judgemental.
The biggest problem teens face is drugs.
#223
A lot more kids younger and younger are starting to do drugs because there friends are telling them to do it. There older brother or sister are giving it to them. They do it because they think they are being cool.
How we can fix this is have more people watching the parks. The parents should be watching there kids to.
#201
224
I think the biggest problems that teens face today are drugs and alcohol.
#202
Dear 218,
I think your right because girls do get pressured into having sex. A lot of teens who do have a baby either have family problems or they don't have any money for all that a baby needs.
219

224
people never think about what other people are going through and the think that all the choices they've made are bad ones, but you dont know what their going through so how would you know?
to: everyone
This is to {206}
I agree with you because this is so true. That is the main reason why teens are doing all these drugs and getting drunk. This is such a good response because this is very true
From [212]
209
Dear 218 I think your views are very true. Kids our age if they do have sex need to practice safe sex.
#201
Dear #223,
I felt that you were touching on a very important matter, but why is your paragraph so short? I would have loved to hear more on the subject you brought up.
218. 209, 206, 201 I agree with all of you guys. That is basically the biggest issue. Peer pressuring causes teens do so many bad things and it can be hard to say no. I agree that even younger kids are wanting to bad things like drugs and drinking too, just to seem accepting of the older kids. (seem cool) And it shouldn't be like that, but yet it is.
210
This is to 206!
#212
206
Dear 207,
I disagree with you when you said "but I don't think making marijuana legal is going to help." If you think about it you have to have a prescription from your doctor in order to get it. Not only that but you have to be over a certain age and it really can help certain people with certain conditions.
#213
The biggest problem facing teens today is probably pregnancy/sex.
Dear #206
I agree with you, everyone is does judge everyone based on what they do when others tell them to do it. Even if a kid has been judge before they will turn around and judge someone else for the same thing that they wouldn't do. But I think everyone should just stop pressuring others to do things. Because if they know that they wouldn't do it themselves then don't make others or try to make others do it. #222
#202
dear 210,
I agree with you. I mean who cares if you shop at Ross or Target. I don't like how people always say, "If you don't shop here then you must be poor." I want to ask you Do you shop at a store like Target?
#207
Hey #212, I completely agree with you. All this week a lot of people have been asking me to go to parties where there is going to be drinking. I also hear a lot of people saying they got high this day, and others that got wasted. So tat is my opinion on the teen issues I think are the most important!
#214
This is why I think peer-pressure is such a problem
I don’t think there really is a way to solve peer-pressure it’s a thing that everyone will have to go through at some point in there life. Its something that can’t be stopped because it happens “behind closed doors” so adults and other people can’t really see it happening. This is why I think peer-pressure is an unsolvable problem.
#207
I think the biggest problem is internet safety. many disappearances and/ or deaths happen related to the internet. If we all learned internet safety and tried to spread we could decrease deaths/ disappearances dramatically. We can make the world a better place. It's up to you.
224
218-i think the way your viewing things is great. like the way you worded it and explainedt. i think teens getting pregnant is a big issue because they drop out then their life is pretty much ruined.
203
206
Dear 219,
I strongly agree with what you have to say because its so true that kids are just blowing through school just doing whatever they feel like when all that actually matters right now is school work and grades. Great post!
209
Dear 220 I think it's pure pressure because that is most likely what directly causes them to do drugs in the 1st place.
#223
Dear 224
You are so true a lot of younger kids are doing all that stuff because older teens are giving it to them.
#215
Teen issues, there will always be teen issues.
For example yes I kno alot of teens to have bad grades, but there are also a majority of teens that do get grades and really care about school.
to #219 from 220
I do think bad grades are a big teen issue but i think drugs are a bigger issue. Teens have no reason to be doing drugs. actually nobody has any reason to be doing them. But teens are getting lazier and lazier.
#207
Hey #219 I disagree with you, because bad grades might be an issue right now, but alcohol and drugs have been going on forever. I think we should focus more on that then bad grade. Because I mean it's your choice if you want to get bad grades or not!
@ 220
I agree that drugs are a major part of issues that teens have but think about this: Most teens don't let anyone but their friends know about them taking drugs. In this stage of our lives, no one, and I mean no one is going to tell a teacher or parent that someone is doing drugs. No one wants to be the snitch. So how can we have intervention programs and ways to get clean if most adults have no way of understanding who and how someone is doing drugs?
--219
223
Dear 206
I think you are right. It is really hard not to do something when all of the people you are with are telling you to do it.
224
i agree with what 206 said to 207. some people may seriously need medical marijuana for specific reason, and if their given the prescription for it from their doctors that means they do need it. it was made for a reason.
Dear #218
I agree that sex is a huge problem teens face especially for girls but also for guys. A lot of girls feel that if they don't give into their boyfriends they will lose them. Guys also have that pressure from their friends who will nag them about it until they do it.
From #214
Dear 206, I agree on your point about how peer pressure is a big issue. That is what mainly leads teens into choosing bad actions and then influencing others younger than them.
From 215
206
Dear 203,
That makes so much sense. It does have a lot to do with the parents because the parents are nicer to us than there parents were because they thought there parents were horrible. Now they want to be the "cool" parent when really they are ruining their kids life.
to #219 from 220
I do think bad grades are a big teen issue but i think drugs are a bigger issue. Teens have no reason to be doing drugs. actually nobody has any reason to be doing them. Teens are getting lazier and lazier.
224
to 223. exactly. the young ones look up to the older ones so if they do it of course the young ones are going to want to do it.
dear 213
i don't fully agree with you. Why do you think there isn't a solution? 203
208
I believe the biggest pressures among teen is peer pressure.I believe that peer presure among teens is the biggest presure/problem.
715
Dear 219
I disagree that bad grades are one of the worst problems facing teens. I mean there are a lot of people that do get bad grades but there are also a lot of teens who get really GOOD grades.
From 214
224
to 715. i agree. i hate rumors! especially when their about me or my friends. i think their really stupid because their never true.
#217
218. 214, Yea I agree with you that guys will get nagged at about it by their friends as well, I just didn't know how to word that for guys.
Dear 207 I agree with you I think that internet Safety is also a big issue with teens. And we should all make sure that we don't give away any personal information over the internet to keep safe. 222
#202
Dear 219,
I agree with you because a lot of teens do have bad grades. A lot of them think that they can't change them but they can. Your blog really shows them how and why they should. How do you think we could make class easier?
#207
I disagree with you 715 drama is in anyones life like it's supposed to be there. I think it's knowing internet safety.
@220
@218
@207
--219
#207
Dear 202, I completely agree with you, because some teens do have a lot of problems going on in their lives! I also do think schools can help, but I also now there is some teens that are very stoburn... and they might not want to leave it behind!
@ 202
It's not really that we need to make classes easier, because they will not get easier as life progresses. It's that we need to make a better learning environment.
--219
#207
I partly agree with you 203 because right now that is a big issue. I personally think the biggest problem is being safe on the internet.
#223
Dear 715 i disagree with you. Drama is not a problem it is life.
#223
The problem that teens face today is depression. People express this sadness in many different ways. Most teens show impulsive behavior in their actions. Also, they use drugs and smoke. This can lead to rudeness. Plus, some studies show that teens who spend too much time on the Internet sometimes will show sings of depression. I have learned that teens are getting worse and worse over the generations. I have heard this from adults and college students.
#216
I agree with you #217. Many kids are doing drugs and drinking alcohol and it does a lot of bad things to your body.
@203 I completely agree with you. If someone is going to mess up their life then they shouldn't bring people down with them by telling them it's "cool".
215
211
I disagree with everyone who said drugs and alcohol are the main teen issues. Think about it, who influences them to pick up pot for the first time? Haven't you ever seen the commercials live above the influence? they want to stop the influence because if you stop that you stop the heart of the problem.
#202
Dear 219,
I guess I'm not understanding. Please explain what you mean.
#217
Dear 215... I don't really agree that popularity is a big teen issue. You can't really control how popular you are. You just make decisions that either get you friends or make you lose them.
#223
I agree with you 208, peer pressure is PURE pressure
#216
I don't agree with you #219 because not all teens get bad grades.
208
I agree with 207. 715 I believe drama is not the cause but the cause is really peer pressure from other teens think teens need to stop pressuring one another.I think if teens where more caring to one another this and things like this would not happen.
